What are search filters? How can they help?

Filters limit and/or broaden search to within specific parameters.
#1 Filter by Collection: Narrows search to a specific data collection, such as Veterans. See collection descriptions.
#2 Plus/Minus filter: Broadens search to within so many years of the dates provided.
#3 Exact Match filter: Search will match terms exactly (case sensitive).
#4 Phonetic filter: Broadens search by using first and last name consonants. For example, Dan (first name) would produce records for Dennis, Don, Dean, Dagny, and so forth.
